What is it?

The rural economy holds significant potential for creating decent and productive jobs and contributing to sustainable development and economic growth. 

This course aims to address these issues by providing an in-depth understanding of the context of rural employment in developing countries, outlining the particular challenges faced by rural youth, and young women in particular. It will explore the various policy elements and intervention approaches that are needed to support rural youths.

Who attends this course? This course is ideal for policymakers, planners, technical officials, and experts from relevant ministries and institutions. It's especially relevant for those involved in labor, employment, agriculture, rural development, and economic planning. We also welcome social partners, researchers, policy analysts, and professionals from international, regional, and national organizations, as well as academia and donor organizations, particularly those active in rural development.


The course will be 
held online for a duration of two weeks, offering an intense program of 25 hours of learning. It will be held in English and French.
